Program Structure

The Master of Science in Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management program comprises 7 modules and the choice of a consultancy project or academic dissertation, structured to accommodate working professionals’ work priorities and commitments. The programme is 100% coursework-based and focuses on applied case studies. 

Following the course of study, there will be an opportunity for students to pursue a consultancy project with a leading small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) or a multinational corporation across Asia.

You will be expected to contribute to the class learning experience in a peer and cohort learning environment. All candidates will be assessed based on their working experience and merits.

At least 21 years old with a Bachelor’s degree in any field

OR

Graduate / Postgraduate Diploma from Private Education Institutions or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years work experience can be considered on a case-by-case basis

OR

Candidates 30 years old and above with 8 years of work experience but without academic qualifications can be considered on a case-by-case basis

Through this part-time MSc Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management program,  you will be equipped with advanced knowledge and
skills in managing global logistics and supply chains.

Global Service Operations, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management

This module explores the key concepts, tools, and techniques associated with Service Operations, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management. It focuses on service evaluation, enhancement, and continuous improvement. The module is suitable for those pursuing careers in various service industries, such as retail, financial services, and consultancy. Students will be introduced to the nature and scope of Service Operations Management in both private and public sector contexts. The module will guide students through the growing body of literature on service operations, equipping them with the necessary concepts, tools, and techniques to assess, analyze, and improve service offerings effectively.

Digital Logistics and Supply Chain Management

The digital age is moving forward at a fast pace that digital technologies are fundamentally transforming the way businesses operate. This module provides you with an introduction to the role of emerging digital technologies (such as big data analytics, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and blockchain) and analytics tools, techniques, and processes in global logistics and supply chain management. You will gain an in-depth understanding of topics such as supply chain analytics, data analytics and transport planning, e-procurement, and lean and agile supply chains in the era of Industry 4.0. You will be equipped with in-depth practical knowledge of analytical tools and techniques that you will use in the career in logistics and supply chain management. You will also be able to provide innovative practical solutions for modern logistics and supply chain challenges with a global perspective.

Supply Chain Sustainability and Resiliency

The module explores the ways in which good practice in these fields underpinned with theoretical relevance can contribute to the optimisation of operational efficiency, manage waste streams, build in risk-resilience, socially just, transparent and accountable supply chain organisations and contribute towards the Circular Economy. It also examines organisational excellence, how contemporary organisations mitigate/adapt to risk and can play a role in improving conditions such as public health, social justice and environmental risk and seek sustainable competitive advantage(s) for the fruition of broader 'triple bottom line' (TBL) benefits.

Supply Chain Strategy and Processes

This module provides you with a comprehensive understanding and critical appreciation of concepts and issues on supply chain management, strategies and processes in a global context. The module addresses the supply chain as a global system which includes critical processes to be managed such as materials, services and information. As such, the module develops your understanding of interrelationships and integration of different members in the chain. To achieve this, the module provides a critical analysis of different supply chain strategies and their potential fit to alternative supply chain structures and models.

Financial Performance Management

The Financial Performance Management module seeks to provide students with critical knowledge and understanding of the sources associated with finance and how to use them effectively for organisations operating domestically or internationally.

Global Strategic Management

This module provides you with a critical and clear understanding of Corporate Strategy and Corporate Social Responsibility in international business context. You will learn how to apply the essential concepts and tools of strategy that are used by managers in multinational firms and global organisations. In a global, fast pace world that is rapidly changing, systematic strategic contexts analysis, data-driven decision-making and systematic business development are crucial for companies and professionals to succeed.

Business Research Methods

Through Business Research Methods, students will focus on financial management as well as other resources to help optimise organisational performance as a whole.

The Dissertation module gives students the opportunity to apply the knowledge, analytical skills, and conceptual tools acquired from the programme to an in-depth study of a specific organisational issue revolving around business management, marketing management, human resource management, or financial management in the global context.
