Academic & Examination Board - Aventis Graduate School

The Academic and Examination Board is an appointed committee that is set up to provide strategic leadership, academic guidelines, and partnerships. It is the principal academic body within the institution which is responsible for approving academic proposals and for providing advice on academic policy, academic strategy, and academic standards. It’s mission is to provide academic policy advice, approve courses and programs, advance and coordinate the work of faculties and other academic units, support teaching, scholarship, and research. Aventis Graduate School Academic and Examination Board consists of the following 4 members:

Professor Malick Sy – Ph.D, Business Administration, Finance (University Of Louvain, Belgium)

Professor Malick Sy has more than 25 years of experience in financial consulting and advisory services to many financial institutions in Europe, Asia, and Australia. He is a professor in Financial Management at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University-Australia, a visiting Professor at the City University of New York (USA) and adjunct professor of Arcadia University, Pennsylvania (USA). He is currently the Managing Director and Principal Consultant of a financial consulting firm with offices in South East Asia. He has been a Director with the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange and has been a member of the Singapore Exchange Corporate Advisory Committee on Derivatives (SGX-DT).

Dr Patrick Chan - Ph.D, Behavioural Finance (Nanyang Technological University)

Dr Chan is part of our highly experienced faculty and is a consultant with over 30 years of experience. Dr Chan also lectures at Nanyang Technological University and Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). He had served on the boards of various professional bodies and non-profit organizations including the Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association, Risk and Insurance Management of Singapore (RIMAS) and Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled; etc. He is also the director of Synergi Consulting. Dr Chan is the Chairman of Aventis Center for Wellness and Organizational Psychology, offering coaching to PMETs in career transition.

Dr KC Chan - Ph.D, International Business (University of Strathclyde)

Dr Chan has had over 30 years of senior management experiences. He is an expert in international business management, management consulting, and organizational development. His highest role was Chief Operating Officer (COO) of a US$3.2b integrated resort project. His corporate track record was to turnaround a conglomerate, during the Asian Crisis with US$14b debt, to becoming the second wealthiest company in Indonesia (2022). He has trained over 10,000 junior, middle and senior managers in transformational & adaptive leadership courses throughout Asia. A regular speaker at regional and international seminars, forums, and symposium on agile project management, innovation leadership, holistic entrepreneurship, etc. He conducts organizational behaviour & leadership, innovation & agile entrepreneurship, global strategic management, managing strategic risks and projects, and operations management modules at bachelors, masters, and doctorate levels. He is a visiting professor to 15 universities in Asia during the past 20 years.

Mr Samuel Teo - MBA (Macquarie University), Executive Master Of Finance, (City University Of New York)

Mr. Samuel Teo is the General Manager of Aventis Graduate School with over 15 years of experience in the Private Education Sector. As a strong advocate of private education, he is a firm believer in lifelong learning after having completed his Postgraduate Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) UK, Master of Management and MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM, Australia) and Executive Master of Science in Finance from the City University of New York (USA).
