Counselling skills, especially assessing change readiness and basic counselling questioning techniques (from PCT/SFBT/MI), would help facilitate clients to understand why fitness as a lifestyle, and how gaining management skills and abilities to manage their physical health can affect their quality of life.
Counselling skills can also help clients reframe negative thoughts or misunderstandings that managing health is unnecessary.
In addition, the methods to facilitate healthy lifestyle skills as well as the role and skills of a health coach would be discussed.
More about the speaker:
Mr Leon is a counsellor with a fitness and health coaching background. He has a Masters Degree in Counselling from Swinburne University and possesses the national coaching accreditation certifications from Sports SG. He is also a fitness instructor and carries out health coaching for older adults at NTU.
