OVERVIEW
The Graduate Diploma in Accounting & Finance is tailored for company executives, managers and business leaders who wish to enhance their financial knowledge and skills which are important for strategic decision making and better career prospects. It serves as an excellent platform for students to build their knowledge, skills and techniques on the essential aspects of accounting & finance. Participants may come from non-financial backgrounds such as marketing, sales, computing, engineering, law and human resources.

Duration: 1 year (full time)
Course Fees: S$10,800.00 + a one-time application fee of S$500.00 (subject to 7% GST)
Assessment: Examinations and coursework (quizzes, discussions, case studies, presentations)
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
Developed and delivered by industry practitioners, this programme comprise of 4 subjects:
Classes are conducted daily from Monday to Fridays from 9.00am to 12.00pm or 2.00pm to 5.00pm.
AWARDS & ACCREDITATION
The Graduate Diploma in Accounting & Finance is awarded by Aventis School of Management. Successful graduates will be allowed to use the designatory letters "GradDip Acct & Fin" after their name upon completion of the programme. Graduates can then move on to pursue Master degree programs with Baruch College, the City University of New York in Singapore or other prestigious universities.
FEE SCHEDULE
The total investment for this program is S$10,800.00. The total tuition fee covers face-to-face lectures, course materials, seminars, assignments, examinations, degree on completion and transcript. However, it does not include textbooks and other miscellaneous charges as imposed by Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) for international students.

COURSE CURRICULUM
Developed and delivered by renowned academia and industry practitioners, the program is both academically rigorous and closely aligned with industry practice and framework.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING FOR MANAGERS
This module provides students with an understanding of the concepts and language of accounting, to be used as an effective tool for communication, monitoring and resource allocation. Standard techniques of analysis are covered, including ratio and financial statement analysis and financial statement articulation. Students are provided a framework for understanding financial statements, accounting reports and parent-subsidiary relationships.
MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING
The course introduces students to contemporary management accounting concepts and techniques. Topics: the role of accountants in internal decision-making, tools used to design and develop costing systems, preparation of budgets and their role as a planning and control tool, other decision-making tools including CVP analysis, pricing decisions, inventory issues and costs of quality.
DECISION MAKING TOOLS FOR MANAGERS
This module will familiarize students with a number of tools needed to statistically analyze financial data and expose students to a number of important financial applications. You will learn to use some of the more important analytic methods (E.g. spreadsheet modelling, optimization, simulation) to recognize their assumptions and limitations and to employ them in decision-making. Tests of asset pricing models using Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) will be discussed.
APPLIED CORPORATE FINANCE
This module introduces students to the finance function in an organisation. 3 strategic decisions of finance are examined: what to invest in, how to finance the investment and how to manage the risks associated with the investment. Key topics such as financial planning and control, time value of money, capital budgeting techniques and asset acquisition decisions are explored. Students are familiarised with capital expenditure decisions as part of long-term financial strategy, including risk exposure and unexpected changes in the value of investments.

If notice of withdrawal is received between 60 to 30 days before course commencement, 75% of course fees paid will be refunded. No refund will be made after the course has commenced. Course Fee paid will not be refunded in the event of deferment regardless of whether the request made is prior to commencement or after the commencement of the course
