EXECUTIVE MASTER OF SCIENCE IN MARKETING

(Incorporating the Aventis Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration)

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Baruch Executive Master of Science in Marketing focuses on the importance of international marketing, the commercial exchange of materials and goods and services among countries. Its study includes analyzing the global environment of international trade, market research and the marketing function in multinational enterprises. The program will examine the psychological, economic, socio-cultural decision-making influences on consumer behaviour as well as consumer behaviour applications to social marketing. Participants will also gain an in-depth understanding of strategic marketing research using important analytical and conceptual skills to embark on critical market intelligence projects to advance market understanding. At the end of the program, participants will graduate with a global qualification that equips them for senior positions in large local organisations and multinational companies anywhere in the world.

Course Fees: S$44,600.00 + a one-time application fee of S$500.00 (subject to 7% GST)

Classes are conducted daily from Monday to Fridays from 9.00am to 12.00pm or 2.00pm to 5.00pm.

DUAL AWARDS

The Executive Master of Science degree is directly awarded by Baruch College, The City University of New York. In addition, a certificate in your field of study will also be issued by the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College. These awards are exactly the same as the ones U.S students received upon graduating from this program. Successful graduates will be allowed to use the designatory letters “EMSc Marketing” after their name upon completion of the programme.




The Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration is awarded by Aventis School of Management. Successful graduates will be allowed to use the designatory letters “PG Dip BA” after their name upon completion of the programme.




GLOBAL RECOGNITION

Established since 1911, the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is the world’s leading global body for marketing professionals with over 50,000 members and 50 branches worldwide.


Baruch EMSc Marketing graduates will be eligible to apply for full membership of CIM (MCIM). Upon completion of 35 hours of continuous professional development (CPD) each year (1 July – 30 June) for two consecutive years and activities are recorded on the log book, they will be eligible for Chartered Marketer status. Having Chartered Marketer status demonstrates that you practice the highest professional marketing standards by keeping your marketing knowlege and skill content.

FEE SCHEDULE

The total investment for this dual award program is S$44,600.00. The total tuition fee covers face-to-face lectures, course materials, seminars, assignments, examinations, degree on completion and transcript. However, it does not include textbooks and other miscellaneous charges as imposed by Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) for international students.

ADMISSION CRITERIA

An ideal candidate should possess:

  • A recognised undergraduate degree or its equivalent plus 3 years of working experience OR
  • A good diploma from a recognised institution plus management experience OR business ownership experience OR senior professional experience.
  • Mature candidates who have demonstrated exceptional professional or business achievements but who do not meet the above requirements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

For international applicants for whom English is a second language, the minimum English language requirements are those which are outlined as follows:

  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test-a minimum score of 6.0 in Reading and Writing sub scores and a minimum overall score of 6.5
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - a minimum score of 55 (21 in the computer based test) in Reading and Structure / Writing sub scores and a minimum overall score of 575 (232 in the computer based test)
